Biography
Mariah Cady, from Columbus, Georgia, is a first-year student in the DPhil in International Development, where she researches the notion of state responsibility in regard to forced migration. She recently completed the MSc in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies (2024-25) at Oxford. Funded by the Foundation Fellowship, her undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Georgia (USA) with majors in Russian and International Affairs and minors in Geography, German, and TESOL; in 2023-24 she spent a year in Almaty, Kazakhstan as a Boren Scholar.
She looks forward to a career dedicated to the improvement of refugee resettlement policies. In her free time, she enjoys language learning, volunteering, and trying out a variety of new sports and recipes.
