“The Character, Service and Leadership Programme crystalised the journey and the evolution  of the Trust from what it was in my day - always transformative - as truly a bursary to Oxford to something that is deeply committed to the core values of our selection criteria and committed to engaging with those values not only in how we select Scholars but also in how we work with Scholars once they get to Oxford.”

Celebrating 10 Years

In December 2024 the Trust marked 10 years of the Character, Service and Leadership Programme with a special event bringing together pioneers of the programme with current Scholars and team members. It was a time of reflection on what has been learned as well as a chance to look to the future together.

"It was not only right to start this initiative, it was imperative."

In this audio, Former Warden of Rhodes House and Originator of the Character, Service and Leadership Programme, Charles Conn, discusses the critical time period from which the Character, Service and Leadership Programme emerged

We extend our deepest gratitude to the 'Founders and Shapers' of the Scholar programming and to the visionary donors who have supported the programme as it has evolved. We continue to explore funding opportunities to ensure that all future Rhodes Scholars in Oxford can focus on personal growth and leverage the power of community to co-create a better world.
