Biography

A California native, Sayeh Kohani is a senior at Stanford University pursuing a B.S. in Bioengineering and a minor in Public Policy. Sayeh’s undergraduate research examines how neural circuits assemble throughout development in fruit flies. As an aspiring physician-scientist, she hopes to combine advances in neural circuits with clinical work to improve treatments of neurological disorders. At Stanford, Sayeh founded NeuroConnect, a student-run volunteer group that supports patients with neurodegenerative disorders. She is also involved in Stanford Health Advocacy and Research in the Emergency Department, where she works with and connects patients with social resources. In her free time, she enjoys playing piano, hiking, and cooking. At Oxford, Sayeh hopes to pursue further studies in neuroscience and social policy.
