Sarah Skinner

Biography

Sarah Skinner is a senior at the United States Naval Academy, where she studies both Political Science and Mandarin Chinese. At the Naval Academy, she serves as both Company Commander and captain of the women's rugby team. She started playing rugby in her freshman year at the Academy, and since then has been named a top 5 finalist for the Sorenson Award, an award given to the nation's top female collegiate rugby player and has participated in the USA Rugby Olympic Development program. Her research is aimed at evaluating "middle power" nations and institutions in their capacity to mitigate hegemonic competition and conflict between the US and China. At Oxford, she hopes to complete an MPhil in International Relations.
