Biography

Jad is an international relations graduate from LSE, and is currently a research analyst at The Economist Group. He recently completed his MSc in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford, achieving the highest grade on the final research paper. Jad was born and raised in Syria but has lived in Lebanon and the UK since leaving his home country in 2013. He is most passionate about the democratic development of the Middle East. As an undergraduate, Jad worked with several newspapers to cover political developments in the region. More recently, he worked at the UN human rights office and the LSE Middle East Centre. Jad hopes to pursue a DPhil in International Development, focusing on business-state networks in the Middle East.
