Biography

Shruti Iyer is a researcher, activist and writer from Bangalore. She studied Politics, Philosophy and Law at King's College London and later worked at the Centre for Equity Studies in Delhi. Her research interests revolve around the relationship that social movements have with the state, with a focus on informal labour and women's movements. While at King's, she was an Undergraduate Research Fellow and worked on the relationship between race relations legislation and policing, and on another project to do with new technologies of policing. She also led the Intersectional Feminist Society and wrote poetry with the Barbican Young Poets between 2014-16. When she is not at a desk or a demonstration, she enjoys listening to 90s R&B music, reading novels, and learning about plants.
