Biography
Jeffrey Ding, Iowa City, is a senior at the University of Iowa where he is pursuing three degrees, a B.B.A. in Economics, a B.S. in Political Science, and a B.A. in Chinese. While interning at Hong Kong's Legislative Council in 2014, he wrote speeches and developed voting models for a legislative councilor during the pro-democracy demonstrations. He is a Truman Scholar, and served in 2015 as an intern for the U.S. State Department's East Asia Pacific Bureau. As a participant in the University of Iowa's Climate Narrative Project, Jeffrey presented in-depth research, field studies, and personal interviews with farmers and agricultural experts that was featured on a nationally syndicated public radio program. He is vice president of the University of Iowa Student Government, and as a member of the Chinese Church of Iowa City, he has aided international students in adjusting to life in Iowa City.
