Biography
Miriam graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College, where she majored in Anthropology with secondary fields in Women and Gender Studies and History. She also completed a Senior Fellowship, a highly selective year-long program that allowed her to craft an evocative autoethnography of inter-ethnic friendships in Kenya. She has conducted research on female circumcision in Kenya and initiated a mentorship program for girls at risk of undergoing the practice in Marakwet East. While at Dartmouth, Miriam worked as a writing tutor and as an undergraduate residential and academic adviser. She has been awarded severally for her academic excellence. Miriam enjoys writing fiction and nonfiction short stories. She hopes to pursue a career in academia, researching how transformational processes affect the livelihoods and identity formation among women and youth.
