On Saturday, November 21, 2020, the American Rhodes Scholar Class of 2020 was elected. These 32 outstanding students will commence their studies at Oxford in October 2021. They were selected from a pool of 953 applicants who had been nominated by their colleges and universities. They will now complete their applications to begin courses at Oxford next year, widely across the University's academic disciplines. 100 Mandela Rhodes Scholars for Nelson Mandela's 100th Birthday
The Mandela Rhodes Foundation in Cape Town has celebrated the centenary of its Founding Patron Nelson Mandela with a ‘gift’ of 100 Mandela Rhodes Scholars in residence – the largest cohort in the MRF’s history. The Foundation simultaneously celebrated its own 15th birthday, having been founded at the time of the Rhodes Trust’s centenary in 2003.
