The Rhodes Society

“I give because I was fortunate to be given a life-changing opportunity and feel it is the right thing to do so that others can be given the same opportunity.”

Mari Rabie
(South Africa-at-Large & St Catherine's 2010)

We thank those Scholars and Friends of the Trust who have generously made the decision to include the Rhodes Trust in their wills. Together, they make up the Rhodes Society.

There are more than a hundred members of the Rhodes Society, and no two are alike. They span 60 years of age and are spread all over the world – but they have in common a drive to make a lasting impact, creating an enduring legacy for generations to come.

This year, we officially launched the 50@50 Campaign – in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Rhodes Women in 2027, and we hope to mark the occasion by welcoming at least 50 women as members of the Rhodes Society. If you are considering leaving a legacy, we would love to hear from you at development@rhodeshouse.ox.ac.uk.

Celebrating
The Right Hon The Baron Robert Fellowes
GCB GCVO QSO.

The Rhodes Trust was saddened to hear of the passing of former Rhodes Trustee, Lord Robert Fellowes. We were humbled to learn Lord Fellowes had remembered the Rhodes Trust in his Will, and we are incredibly grateful for his leadership as a friend and advisor to the Trust.

Lord Fellowes joined the Royal Household as Assistant Private Secretary in 1977, becoming Private Secretary to Queen Elizabeth II in 1990. He held that office until 1999, guiding the monarchy through some of its most turbulent years. After leaving the royal service, Lord Fellowes was dedicated to a number of charitable causes, including being a Rhodes Trustee from 2000-2010.

We thank Lord Fellowes for his commitment to the Trust and the next generation of Rhodes Scholars.
