Yanyijie (Zoey) Zhou is currently a senior student at Yuanpei College, Peking University. She majors in PPE and minors in sociology. Her research interest lies in socio-economic development, especially in explaining the role of institutional factors in contemporary China. She interned at UNDP China and participated in two SDGs localization projects. Outside of the classroom, she was the president of the Peking University Model United Nations Association and currently serves as the vice president of the Jing forum, co-organized by Peking University and the University of Tokyo. At Oxford, she seeks to chase her passion for providing theoretical and empirical explanations for development issues.
