Biography
Serene Singh is a Truman Scholar and senior at the University of Colorado. She serves as Chief Justice of her Student Government and President of the Political Science Honors Society. As Founder of the National Sikh Youth Program, Colorado Bhangra, and Sikh Student Association, Serene is passionate about challenging stereotypes and spreading love. A former Miss Colorado Teen and America's Junior Miss, Serene's pageantry experience inspires her to empower women worldwide, which has led her to create The Serenity Project nonprofit to empower at-risk women, work for Mrs. Obama and the Global Girls Alliance to improve girls' education, and represent the U.S. as a Dalai Lama Fellow and Global Changemaker. In addition to working with low-income students as a speech and debate coach, Serene enjoys painting, snowboarding, and videography.
