Adam Abebe

Biography

Adamseged Abebe is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Health and Societies, along with a master's in Non-Profit Leadership. Having lived in and visited several African countries, Adam has been interested in understanding international development through different sectors. He has conducted research on mitochondrial proteins at Penn Medicine; HIV/AIDS and population health in Malawi; and the impact of Chinese investment on Ethiopian infrastructure. He has also served as a teacher and a mentor for students at Lebawi Academy, a non-profit school in Ethiopia for the past three summers. He also interned at Goldman Sachs to better understand capital financing and emerging markets. A Penn World Scholar, Abebe has served as a founder and president of the Society of African Internationals at Penn. At Oxford, Adam intends to pursue a doctorate in international development.
