Caitlin Salvino

Biography

Caitlin is a passionate human rights advocate who is deeply committed to using law as a tool to empower marginalized groups to live a life with dignity. Through completing a BA in Human Rights and Law at Carleton University, as well as studying in Washington D.C. as a Fulbright Killam Fellow and at The Hague Academy of International Law - Caitlin recognizes that law is a necessary but not sufficient tool for justice. Her experience in the Canadian Parliament, working to support women globally with Oxfam Canada and volunteering with children living with disabilities has enabled her to begin addressing the legislative gaps that result in daily injustices.

Most recently, she has spearheaded OurTurn, a national campaign working with organizations across Canada representing over 500,000 students to implement evidence-based prevention, support and advocacy programs to end sexual violence on campuses.

Caitlin is deeply committed to improving access to justice and seeks to gain further expertise in this field at Oxford to continue the Rhodes scholarship legacy of "fighting the world's fight", as a lawyer.
