Archit Jain

Biography

Archit completes his Bachelor of Arts in Economics in May 2018. Passionate about international development, he aims to redress global poverty and inequality through evidence-based policy interventions. His research on the economic viability of rooftop solar systems, undertaken at the Centre for Civil Society, was submitted to the Government of Delhi. He also spent a summer at the Pratham Education Foundation, conducting fieldwork and creating statistical models to evaluate a randomised control trial aimed at accelerating literacy and numeracy acquisition amongst underprivileged primary school children. In addition to his academic interests, he enjoys poetry, oil painting and writing op-eds for online magazines. At Oxford, Archit intends to further his studies in economics, focusing on the intersection of development theory and behavioural science to innovate effective policy solutions for the challenges facing developing countries.
