Biography
Nicole A. Mihelson, Fullerton, will graduate from Johns Hopkins in December 2016, with a major in neuroscience. Her research focuses on the stem-like brain tumor cells of Glioblastoma multiforme. Along with her oncology research, Nicole studies the social determinants of maternal mental health and its impact on child development. She has volunteered extensively in her community, leading nutrition education workshops in local Baltimore schools. A junior Phi Beta Kappa member and Goldwater Scholar, Nicole has published as a co- and primary author in a number of peer-reviewed journals. She is fluent in French and Spanish, proficient in Russian, and began learning Hebrew. She enjoys salsa and merengue dancing, cooking, running, and politics.
