Mikaila Smith

Biography

Mikaila V.Smith will graduate next month from the University of Texas, where she is a Presidential Scholar, with majors in social entrepreneurship and non-profit management and Chinese. Her research and career interests focus on international and long-term strategies for refugee populations. She has done an environmental internship in Australia, a U.S. State Department-sponsored language study in China, and interned in a foreign policy think tank in Washington. She has been an active volunteer working with ranch animals, in a shelter for victims of domestic violence, and with school-aged refugee children. She is also a certified yoga teacher.
