Will Cahill

Biography

Will is on track to complete his BSc. Chemical Engineering degree with 1st class honours by December 2015. His honours thesis focuses on acid rock drainage mitigation, more specifically investigating the use of microorganisms as a collecting agent in the froth flotation separation process to recover ultrafine coal and sulphur containing minerals. Will is a passionate Rower, having rowed for and captained the UCT men's A8 and rowed for South Africa at the 2013 World University Games in Russia. Will has developed a strong relationship with the Nemato Change a Life Foundation in Port Alfred, where he has tutored, procured text books and white boards and coached rowing. Will hopes to impact the South African energy sector and reduce its dependence on fossil fuels. In his spare time, Will loves to surf at Llandudno and run on Table Mountain.
