Emily Mediate

Biography

Emily M. Mediate, Colorado Springs, graduated from the University of Notre Dame in May with a B.A. in Africana Studies and Health Studies and a minor in International Development Studies. Following graduation, she worked as a junior desk officer for Ethiopia at the U.S. State Department. She is now in Kampala, where she evaluates a USAID project for vulnerable households in Uganda. Emmie also built a library and entrepreneurship center for Ugandan students and worked in Ugandan clinics and communities affected by HIV/AIDS. Emmie has received many prizes and grants for her academic work in East Africa.
