Biography

Other Information : Aravind completed two years of study in the University of Calgary Bachelor of Science program (Biological Sciences) before transferring to the university's three year MD program which he completed last year. He currently serves as a second-year resident-physician with the Clinical Neurosciences Department in Calgary. He has published extensively on multiple sclerosis, neuropsychiatric disorders, stroke, and the history of neuroscience, and is passionate about medical education. He has also undertaken a wide range of voluntary and advocacy projects focussed on alleviating injustice and disparity, including health services for the homeless, long-term care reform, anti-bullying education, and Aboriginal representation in medicine. For a change of pace and relaxation, Aravind performs stand-up comedy and enjoys playing cricket and soccer, as well as pursuing Indian classical music, painting and cartooning. Ultimately, Aravind aspires to be a clinician-scientist, exploring strategies to optimize prevention and healthcare delivery for burgeoning neurological conditions like stroke and dementia.
