2nd Annual Rhodes Ventures Forum 2018

Rhodes Ventures Forum Delegates 2018

Rhodes Ventures Forum 2018 Delegates

Back after its inaugural launch last year, the 2nd Rhodes Ventures Forum served as a platform to envisage the current and future role of business in changing the world for the better. Over the weekend of 16-17 June 2018, the Forum brought together likeminded people and encouraged collaborations across generations and geographies over the question of how the evolving entrepreneurial mindset can be leveraged to tackle the greatest challenges of the 21st century.

We also welcomed 11 Senior Atlantic Fellows and members of other Scholarship and Fellowship communities to bring in their perspectives to the Forum.  The Atlantic Fellows represented several of the global Atlantic Fellows programs which aim to advance fairer, healthier and more inclusive societies. The Rhodes Trust partnered with the Atlantic Philanthropies in 2016 to establish the Atlantic Institute which is based at Rhodes House. The Atlantic Institute supports the Fellows and programs to create a global community of courageous leaders who inspire positive change.

The atmosphere across the weekend was dynamic and creative. One highlight was the Scholar Ventures Showcase, co-hosted by Rhodes Incubator, where Scholar-entrepreneurs presented strong ventures to a panel of seasoned entrepreneurs, investors and experts who in turn offered reflection and constructive feedback. There was also an emphasis on the importance of working in a collaborative way among current Scholars, Senior Rhodes Scholars, Atlantic Fellows and other entrepreneurial experts.
