Ruth completed her undergraduate at USIU-A, receiving a Magna Cum Laude in International Relations. There, she developed a keen research interest in Displacement, forced migration and homelessness. In her second year, she co-founded a community-based organization ‘Out of the Street Foundation’ involved in the rehabilitation, reintegration and empowerment of street children in Nairobi city. Ruth also represented her university in a number of conferences, most notable the Harvard National Model United Nations in Boston, Massachusetts. Currently, Ruth works as a research assistant. She looks forward to pursuing an MSc in Refugee and Forced migration studies in University of Oxford. Ruth identifies as a Pan-Africanist and she loves reading. She currently runs an online bookclub that brings together young people to read a book a month from each of the 54 states in Africa.
