Iqbal is currently pursuing a masters in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation at Imperial College London. He aims to study social insects at forest edges, studying the effect that deforestation has on such communities and the trophic cascades that will ensue. He hopes to apply his research to conservation efforts in India. Aside from science, he spends his time evenly between writing and studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, with smatterings of acting. In 2015 he won the Ashok Kamte Memorial Scholarship for Judo and published a book titled 'Boots'. At Oxford, he will pursue a Dphil in Zoology.
