Zia Saleh is a 3rd year medical student at the University of Alberta, began post-secondary studies as a Loran Scholar at McGill University. Inspired by the Ismaili Muslim community’s emphasis on one’s duty to serve humanity; he hopes to dedicate his life to that purpose – both through clinical care and international development. Specifically, Zia is interested in looking at the ways in which multiple fields can come together in combination to impact people’s lives in a long-term, generational way. Building on his experiences in sports-based teaching in Edmonton, public policy at the World Health Organization, management consulting at Deloitte, and numerous other ventures, Zia hopes to expand his knowledge by pursuing studies in global health and public policy.
