Zia Saleh is a 3rd year medical student at the University of Alberta, began post-secondary studies as a Loran Scholar at McGill University. Inspired by the Ismaili Muslim community’s emphasis on one’s duty to serve humanity; he hopes to dedicate his life to that purpose – both through clinical care and international development. Specifically, Zia is interested in looking at the ways in which multiple fields can come together in combination to impact people’s lives in a long-term, generational way. Building on his experiences in sports-based teaching in Edmonton, public policy at the World Health Organization, management consulting at Deloitte, and numerous other ventures, Zia hopes to expand his knowledge by pursuing a MSc. in Global Health and a Masters in Public Policy.
