S. Nicholas Barton, Bermuda, is in his senior year at Princeton University studying Astrophysical Sciences. At Princeton, Nicholas’s academic pursuits have focussed on applying statistical methods and computer models to the study of open problems in astrophysics. He is particularly interested in exoplanets and his senior thesis deals with the distribution of exoplanets in binary star systems. He has a strong interest in education and mentorship and is an Observing Assistant for an undergraduate astronomy class and is a Leader Trainer in Princeton’s Outdoor Action programme.
Nicholas is also a member of Princeton’s varsity squash team. He intends to read for an MSc in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing and an MSc in Applied Statistics in preparation for a career in academic research.
