Jeffrey Ding, Iowa City, is a senior at the University of Iowa where he is pursuing three degrees, a B.B.A. in Economics, a B.S. in Political Science, and a B.A. in Chinese. While interning at Hong Kong’s Legislative Council in 2014, he wrote speeches and developed voting models for a legislative councilor during the pro-democracy demonstrations. He is a Truman Scholar, and served in 2015 as an intern for the U.S. State Department’s East Asia Pacific Bureau. As a participant in the University of Iowa’s Climate Narrative Project, Jeffrey presented in-depth research, field studies, and personal interviews with farmers and agricultural experts that was featured on a nationally syndicated public radio program. He is vice president of the University of Iowa Student Government, and as a member of the Chinese Church of Iowa City, he has aided international students in adjusting to life in Iowa City. Jeffrey intends to pursue an M.Phil. in International Relations at Oxford.
