University: University of Wisconsin - Madison
Colin T. Higgins, Madison, graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 2015 with a B.A. in Geography, History, and Environmental Studies, and is currently completing a Master of Public Affairs in Policy Analysis, also in Madison. A passionate environmental advocate, he spearheaded the creation of a Green Fund, increased the amount of locally sourced food sold at campus facilities, and created a “conservation captain” program. He is especially interested in the complex philosophical, political, and ecological questions involved in mediating conflicting land uses. A Udall Scholar, Colin’s award-winning senior thesis on a biodiversity offsetting program in the U.K. will be published. At Oxford, Colin will study for an M.Phil. in Geography and the Environment.
