Hamish completed a Bachelor of Arts with first class Honours, majoring in anthropology, and a Diploma in Languages at the University of Melbourne. He also completed a year of study at the University of Cape Town. He has spent three years volunteering for World Vision Australia, learning about how development responds to the world’s greatest challenges, and training young people in advocacy and social activism. He co-founded a successful campaign to transition his university to Fairtrade procurement practices, and has established a micro social enterprise to support revegetation in parts of southern Africa. Most recently, he attended the UN climate talks in Lima, writing as a reporter for The Verb.
