Sarah is a Greville Smith Scholar completing her Bachelor of Science in Interdepartmental Honours Immunology. Sarah discovered her passion for scientific research at the age of 15 after investigating the effects of ingesting antibacterial toothpaste on probiotic bacteria as a prize winning science fair project. She has since worked in immunology/biochemistry laboratories at the University of Waterloo and Meakins Christie Laboratories in Montreal. Sarah runs for and captains McGill’s Varsity Cross Country and Track teams, has won multiple provincial and national medals, and has been recognized as the top female athlete in Quebec for academic excellence and leadership. Sarah’s love of children has fueled her involvement with KidsAbility and a “cuddles” program for infants in a neonatal intensive care unit. Sarah hopes to become a clinician scientist and remain an advocate of the importance of basic scientific research in the medical field.
