Other Information: Alongside the demands of the MBChB, Charles has found time to teach in the Department of Human Anatomy at the University of Nairobi, chaired Medical Students Against AIDS (MESA), the Academics Committee of the Association of Medical Studies and the Association of French Speaking Medical Students. He gained a Certificate in Advanced HIV Management from the University of Washington, won a two-month Wellcome Trust Scholarship paediatric elective at the University of Oxford (2010), an Infectious Diseases Elective at the University of Manitoba (2010); and his BSc thesis gained him an International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) fellowship in Egypt (2009). Not content with these activities, Charles plays the clarinet, is a keen public speaker and presenter, and has served as Captain of the Medical School College Swimming Team and played for the Field Hockey Team. He hopes to further his studies in global health at Oxford and longer-term to influence global health policies
