Other Information: Anne describes herself as a scientist whose passion is community development through science-oriented interventions. She completed the BSc from Moi University - Chepkoilel Campus – where she was named best student in Biochemistry this year. Aside from her studies she has been an active participant in student leadership, serving as the first female Secretary General on the Chepkoilel Students Governing Council (2010/11), as Vice Chair of the Chepkoilel Catholic Students Association (2009/10), as Campus Co-ordinator of the International Movement of Catholic Students (IMCS), Chepkoilel Chapter (2009/11) and, most recently, representing IMCS-Kenya in the 2nd UN Alliance of Civilisation Summer School in Lisbon, Portugal. She volunteers for Adopt-a-Child, a mentoring programme for primary school children, and for AMPATH (Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare), working with poor HIV infected and affected families in Eldoret. Anne hopes to continue long-term in research, focussing on environmental science, and hopes to help shape policy for sustainable development in Kenya.
