Other Information: Anna is passionate about human-computer interaction, and computational and biological learning and modelling; during her undergraduate degree she designed a system controlled by gestures and body movements to help disabled people. She is the recipient of the 2010 Woman in Science and Agriculture Scholarship, and was a finalist in the South African Women in Science Awards 2011. Anna is actively involved in the student organisation GirlEng, which helps to inform and motivate young girls from disadvantaged backgrounds to join the fields of science and technology. She is also a mentor, participates in her church youth group, is a keen pianist and enjoys playing golf and tennis. Anna hopes to pursue a career developing easily-accessible technology for all.
