Yang majors in anthropology. A Truman Scholar, Tracy has focused her academic work on health disparities. She has done research on a parasite prevalent in Latin America, and has explored the policyand public health challenges inherent in reducing the parasite’s impact on public health. Tracy has also worked on health disparities among marginalised populations in Georgia, New York and Nicaragua. She has won many awards for her scholarship and is a leader of the Roosevelt Public Policy Institute at the University.
