Levi Hord

Biography

Levi specializes in transgender studies and queer theory, particularly in regard to contemporary identity formation, community building, and politicized embodiments. Through their research they hope to make important theoretical interventions into social understandings of gender in order that subjugated lives become more livable and political interventions more effective.

Amid several publications and conferences, Levi spends their time doing advocacy work for queer/trans communities, volunteering with sexual assault initiatives, and consulting on policy decisions on gender identity. Levi also sits on the executive boards of Lesbians and Gays Support Refugees and the London Poetry Slam, and has competed nationally as a spoken word poet.
