Sarah Kovan

Biography

Sarah B. Kovan, Okemos, is a senior at Michigan State University, where she will receive a B.A. in Comparative Cultures and Politics and a B.S. in Human Biology. She has a passion for not only understanding issues in global health, but also in acting on them. While studying abroad at Hebrew University, Sarah spent her free time serving in Israel's national ambulance corps. Her academic research has included evaluating options for economic development in Sri Lanka for low-income women. Within her own community, she has provided bedside care to local hospice patients. While pursuing service at home and abroad and engaged in two rigorous academic majors, she has been the starting midfielder for Michigan State's varsity soccer team.
