Biography

Tobias is in the final year of his First State Exam in Law. In 2011, he graduated from the Franco-German double degree program in law of the Universities of Cologne and Paris (Sorbonne Law School), being awarded the degrees of Magister Legum (LL.M.) and Maîtrise en Droit. His first legal article (Current Legal Problems of the Trade of Virtual Goods in Computer Games) was published in Germany's most widely distributed law journal, the Neue Juristische Wochenschrift, in 2012. Tobias is particularly interested in questions of IT Law, Private International Law and International Commercial Arbitration and is currently working at the Institute of Foreign Private and Private International Law of the University of Cologne as well as the international law firm Osborne Clarke. During his studies, Tobias has worked on a volunteer basis for the Student Union of the University of Cologne and has been elected to the Student Parliament, the Faculty Board of the Law Faculty and numerous other student government bodies. Moreover, he is involved in the Free Knowledge movement; in 2010, he was awarded the Johann Heinrich Zedler Medal for Free Knowledge for his German Wikipedia Article on Scrooge McDuck.
