Biography
Amba completed her BA, LLB (Hons) earlier this year. She is particularly interested in the impact of new technologies on issues of surveillance, privacy, communications regulation and intellectual property. In her final year at university she won the Google Policy Fellowship - to work with the Center for Internet & Society in Bangalore - awarded annually to one student from India interested in internet and technology policy. At university Amba served as Editor of the NUJS Law Review. She has published in legal journals, and her article is forthcoming in an edited volume on the Unique Identity project (UID) in India. She is currently working for the National Campaign for People's Right to Information, where she co-ordinates the legal cell. Amba envisages a career communicating ideas about the law to policy makers and the wider publics. She is an accomplished debater and enjoys kick-boxing.
