Welcome to the information page about the Rhodes Scholarships for West Africa. The Scholarship is generously supported by Miles Morland and the Cohen Charitable Trust.

There will be one Rhodes Scholarship each year which will be offered to to an outstanding individual – chosen on the basis of exceptional intellect, character, leadership and commitment to service – to study at the University of Oxford beginning in October 2018.  The Rhodes Scholarship for West Africa was announced on 1 June 2016, and the related news story can be read here.

Selection of the Rhodes Scholarship for West Africa is by a selection committee drawn from diverse professional and academic backgrounds, including both Rhodes Scholars and non-Rhodes Scholars.

Prospective applicants from West Africa should carefully review:

1. the general information about the Rhodes Scholarships,

2. the selection criteria that apply in all Rhodes constituencies, and then

3. the application criteria and procedures specific to West Africa (available in due course).
