The Rhodes Trust is excited to announce that as of 1 August 2016, it has received formal approval from Canada Revenue to establish a separate Canadian registered charity. All gifts from Canadian donors will now be able to be directed to the “Rhodes Scholarships in Canada” where we will be able to issue Canadian charitable donation receipts on a permanent basis.
If you wish to make a gift via a bank wire transfer or would like more information, please contact: Deborah Moore, Director of Canada Engagement and Support at: email@example.com or phone +1.647.964.8148.
To make a gift of using your stocks or securities, please go to our link at Canada Helps.
The Rhodes Trust welcomes major gift commitments that can be paid over a number of years. Donors may specify that their contributions be directed to a restricted fund such as the endowment for the support, in perpetuity, of the 11 Canadian Scholarships. For more information on major gifts or the current Campaign for the Second Century, please contact Ms Tillie Shuster, Director of Special Projects at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone +1. 416 .367. 4623.
It is sometimes possible to double or even triple the impact of your donation if your employer has a matched giving scheme in place. This can easily be checked by searching the link below for participating Canadian companies.
In Canada a 'super tax credit' has been introduced for donors making their first-ever charitable gift, effective through the 2017 tax year, and this would apply to those supporting the Rhodes Scholarships. It effectively adds 25% to the rates used to calculate the standard tax credit, for amounts up to CA$1000. This link provides full details: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/gncy/bdgt/2013/qa01-eng.html.
