Rhodes House gardens win silver medal

Herbacious border in Rhodes House gardenRhodes House has been awarded the Silver Medal for the ‘Best College Garden’ in the ‘Oxford in Bloom 2010’ competition.  Warm congratulations are extended to Head Gardener Neil Wigfield and his colleague Neil Sumner for outstanding work which we are all delighted to see recognised in this way.

The competition is open to all residents and businesses in Oxford, with the intention of enhancing the local environment through the imaginative use of landscaping.  Prizes were awarded by the Lord Mayor of Oxford, Councillor John Goddard.

The garden at Rhodes House has the longest herbaceous border in Oxford, and considerable hard work is required to ensure the year-round magnificence enjoyed by the Rhodes and wider communities, most recently during the Alumni Weekend.
