Welcome to the information page about the Rhodes Scholarships for Zimbabwe.
Each year, there are two Scholarships available in Zimbabwe to enable outstanding students - chosen on the basis of exceptional intellect, character, leadership, and commitment to service - to study at the University of Oxford.
Over many decades, Rhodes Scholars from Zimbabwe have pursued a variety of careers in public service, academia, business, law, and medicine, amongst others.

Applications
Applications for the Rhodes Scholarships for 2014 for Zimbabwe will open on 1 June. An application link will be added to this page on that date.
The selection committee ordinarily meets in Harare in December.
Prospective applicants from Zimbabwe should carefully review:

2. the selection criteria that apply in all Rhodes constituencies, and
3. the application criteria and procedures specific to Zimbabwe (revised 22 August 2012).

The Secretary for the Rhodes Scholarships in Zimbabwe:
Following the sad passing on 12 March 2012 of the Zimbabwean National Secretary, Dr David Hatendi (tributes may be found here, here, and here), the Rhodes Trust can now announce the appointment of Dr Tariro Makadzange (Zimbabwe & Balliol 1999) as the next National Secretary for this region. Dr Makadzange completed a DPhil in Immunology whilst at Oxford and her work now focuses on understanding immune responses to HIV infection.
